Description
"Collect(ing/ion)", as the name implies, is a project about the habit of collecting, in particular
about the habit of collecting souvenirs. Stones are commonly regarded as a very popular souvenir
and can be found nearly at every place of the earth. Besides being omnipresent there also is an intrinsic time aspect to them. Stones collect memories.
I created an archive system that documents the found objects in their outter appearance
and the corresponding memories and association it evokes. It is comparable with the way a
collector documents his found objects. The interplay of the aesthetics, memories and associations
then was used as the basis for a textile collection that gathers all these aspects in a subtle way
and translates it into a set of simple designs.
